Our Classes
Pre-K Classes
In the Pre-K class students learn the beginning fundamentals of ballet and tap dance in a safe, fun and nurturing environment. Students begin to develop fine motor skills and a musicality while learning the basics of the dance forms. Props are used to engage the children in dance activities. Students will perform 2 dances in the recital.

Ballet, Tap and Jazz Combination Classes
Combination classes teach dancers the fundamentals of ballet, tap and jazz in a fun and positive learning environment. The classes includes ballet barre work, across the floor and center technique as well as combinations. Combination classes are a great way for students to experience different types of dance in a one-hour instructional time. Students perform 3 dances in the recital.

Performance Teams
Performance Teams are designed for dancers that wish to perform more often.  They will perform at community events and basketball games as well as our Christmas and end of the year recitals. They will learn dances in the styles of Pom, Jazz and either Novelty ( character ) or Lyrical depending on age group.
Ballet Classes
Ballet classes are offered from a beginner level to advanced. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. Beginner classes introduce vocabulary, proper alignment, and classical ballet technique. Advanced classes include adagio and allegro work, and combinations using balance, strength, and style.

Tap Classes
Tap is a style involving rhythm, dynamics, and varying sounds. Tappers will have a graduated warm-up to loosen their ankles and knees for proper execution of skills, across the floor progressions and have center floor work to learn and perfect new skills.

Jazz Classes
Jazz classes are fun and energetic. They include such elements as kicks, leaps, turns, splits, and isolations. Classes include stretch and strengthening exercises, floor work, and across the floor progressions in addition to a center floor combinations.

Lyrical is a style of dance that uses the emotion and mood of the music to elicit movements from the dancers. Students have a warm up focusing in core strength, flexibility, and movement of the back. The class includes floor work, progressions, and center combinations.  Lyrical is included in with ballet in the 90 minute class sessions.

All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.

All of the classes will perform one dance in a Christmas recital. Our main performance will be the end of the year recital where students will perform at least one dance in each style.  If they are in all 3 styles then 3 dances will be performed.
